Immunogenicity of insulin.

چکیده
Highly purified bovine and porcine insulins (single component insulin) did not produce antibodies in rabbits, and the highly purified porcine insulin was less immunogenic in diabetic patients than USP porcine insulin. In rabbits one porcine high molecular weight fraction (peak A) and two bovine high molecular weight fractions (peak A and peak B) separated from USP insulin by Sephadex chromatography were immunogenic, producing increases in the amount of I-labeled single component insulin bound by the serum. Both peaks (A and B) derived from bovine insulin produced significantly greater insulin binding in rabbits than did the same peaks derived from porcine insulin. In diabetic patients single component porcine insulin produced less binding of insulin to the serum than did USP insulin. DIABETES 21 (Suppl. 2):657-60, 1972.

Evaluation of immunogenicity of LY2963016 insulin glargine compared with Lantus® insulin glargine in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus.
AIMS To compare the immunogenicity profiles and the potential effects on clinical outcomes of LY2963016 insulin glargine (LY IGlar) and Lantus® insulin glargine (IGlar), products with identical primary amino acid sequences, in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T1DM or T2DM). METHODS To assess immunogenicity, anti-insulin glargine antibodies (measured as percent binding) were c...
متن کاملAllergy reactions to insulin: effects of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion and insulin analogues.
The purification of animal insulin preparations and the use of human recombinant insulin have markedly reduced the incidence but not completely suppressed the occurrence of insulin allergy manifestations. Advances in technologies concerning the mode of delivery of insulin, i.e. continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII), and the use of insulin analogues, resulting from the alteration in th...

Reduced immunogenicity of first-trimester human fetal pancreas.
OBJECTIVE The use of human fetal pancreatic tissue may provide a potential source of transplantable beta-cells as a therapy for type 1 diabetes. Human fetal pancreas has a remarkable capacity to grow and differentiate in vivo and has been shown to reverse diabetes in rodents. However, it is known that human fetal pancreas obtained from the second trimester of gestation is immunogenic and is rej...
متن کاملGroup B streptococcal type II and III conjugate vaccines: physicochemical properties that influence immunogenicity.
Recent efforts toward developing vaccines against group B streptococci (GBS) have focused on increasing the immunogenicity of GBS polysaccharides by conjugation to carrier proteins. However, partial depolymerization of GBS polysaccharides for the production of vaccines is a difficult task because of their acid-labile, antigenically critical sialic acids. Here we report a method for the partial ...
